This policy applies to those working at all levels, including directors, employees, consultants, contractors, trainees, homeworkers, part-time and fixed-term employees, casual and agency staff, work experience staff and volunteers.
AVAC is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and to working with our clients, consultants and contractors to achieve these ends.
Our supply chains include a variety of subcontract trades and suppliers of products for use in construction, infrastructure projects, engineering, property development, property management and facilities management.
We are committed to combatting modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and across our supply chains.
As part of this commitment, during 2021:
We have assessed the areas of risk for our business and implemented measures to monitor for modern slaveryWe made clear to our employees, subcontractors and suppliers that we have high expectations of integrity and ensure any contract provisions deal with these issues and demonstrate a commitment to ethical business practices and transparencyWe continued to build long-standing relationships with all our suppliers and subcontractorsWe maintained a whistle blowing policy to encourage our employees to report any issues of concern to us
And we have maintained procedures to:
Identify and assess potential risk areas within our business and in our supply chainsRequire all those in our supply chain and subcontractors to comply with our values with the use of a supply chain compliance programme. This consists of requiring our subcontractors and suppliers to enter a contractual commitment with us to combat slavery and human trafficking in their own organisations and within their own supply chains
During the current year, we shall continue to refine and develop all the above-mentioned policies and procedures.
Discussions of policies and principles regarding the evolution of our anti-slavery and trafficking ethos have taken and continue to take place at regular Management Board meetings and AVAC regularly updates its training and induction procedures to ensure staff are aware of the risks of slavery and trafficking taking place in the industry in which we operate.
We shall keep under constant review the effectiveness of the steps we are taking to avoid and prevent slavery and human trafficking in our own organisation and supply chains and will take such further steps as we deem necessary to effect improvements.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes AVAC's slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31st December 2021.
